Surfing England Interclubs
A great weekend was had at the SE InterClubs last weekend. It was BBR's first time competing and we took a full Team of 20 competitors and supporters to Porthowan, Cornwall.
Each club has 6 Open, 4 Ladies and 4 Junior Competitors; everyone surfs twice and scores are tallied at the end for each Club. We were stoked to get 7th out of 14 Teams but the real joy was seeing 30 plus South Devon BBR Surfers and supporters getting together and enjoying an epic weekend.
Amazing performances from Noah, Martin and Jess all heat winners with Annika, Eva Oscar and Louis all getting credible 2nd places in a highly competitive field, well done them!.
A mention also goes out to the Juniors and younger members of the Ladies team who went out to surf a really heavy comp bank on Sunday morning, there were a few in the Open division who were pleased to dodge that bullet!!
We are as always stoked to have support from Vivobarfoot and they have generously provided 3 Vouchers to the top 3 Category winners! So Noah, Jess and Oscar all score new barefoots for their outstanding results.
As well as rewarding excellence BBR also champion those that just add stoke and vibes to the crew; this weekends the award goes to Postie Kev for great attitude and donating and erecting his own tent for the Team to use on bad weather Sunday! Yeeeew! LEGEND!
Thank you to Vivobarefoot for their support and making all this possible and to Surfing England for organising such an epic weekend. Congrats to Newquay BR for the overall win and BBR look forward to the SE interclubs at Fistral next year!
The only negativity… The last of the open heats were called off Sunday afternoon due to a major sewage output alert from the local Council, A big thumbs down to SW Water who appear to value high Exec salaries and shareholder dividends above clean seas and grass roots sports in our Communities. Shameful. @carvemag
